A burst pipe floods one floor of a car park in the Avenida de César Augusto

Floor -3 of a car park on the Avenida de César Augusto in Saragossa was flooded to a depth of approx. 50 cm following a burst to a 300-mm diam. general pipe made from fibre cement.
According to a statement issued to the press by the Saragossa city council, it appears that the pipe was damaged by accident during contracted work being carried out on an electrical conduit at the Hotel Corona site.
The water leak has now been stopped and, although the road had to be closed while the water supply was shut off, the road has been reopened to traffic.
The aforementioned statement makes it clear that it is still too soon to clearly assess the impact to buildings, although the water leak may have affected neighbouring houses from the Calle de Ramón Pignatelli up to the hotel itself.
